This fantasy landscape work of the workshop of Francesco Guardi, is a copy of "Capriccio with Roman ruin" (Thierry collection, Paris) in which we find iconographic elements often used by Guardi: the central arch in ruins, with its arched span and high arc piercing the wall (cf. Burollet, Theresa, 2004, p.161). Several paintings and drawings can be linked with this release.
